The Northwest Regional Development Agency has also produced key strategies in the following areas:

  • Business Tourism framework - a business tourism framework and action plan has been prepared with the aim of making the Northwest the premier English region for business tourism outside London

  • Great Destinations - The NWDA has set out its thinking on how local authorities and tourist boards can best work together to take forward the ambitious agenda for tourism in the publication Great Destinations. This is to be reviewed in the near future.

In addition, the five Tourist Boards lead on the preparation of an action plan for the partnership of organisations responsible for the visitor experience in the Sub Regions - the Destination Management Plans (DMP’s).  The DMP’s set out the aspirations and key actions of all the stakeholders with an interest in the Visitor Economy and covers a three year period, which is updated annually.  The links to the DMP’s can be achieved through the Tourist Board links on the right
