The Northwest’s experience in developing and promoting major events such as the extremely successful Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture in 2008 should ensure that the region is well placed to gain maximum benefit from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Since 'Be Inspired' was launched in May 2007, the region has made fantastic progress not only in delivering our ambitious vision to help support the delivery of an inspirational London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in 2012, but also in generating a positive legacy for the Northwest.

The Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) is working with regional business organisations including the Tourism sector, to coordinate support to Northwest businesses. The Northwest Legacy Framework for the 2012 Games was launched in May 2007 and an update “Be Proud” was introduced in October 2008.  For further details from England's Northwest click here:
