Business Tourism

Our vision is for England’s Northwest to be a business tourism destination of international significance, building on the strength of our location and the success of our cities.  Business-related tourism has substantial growth potential and represents a high proportion of tourism spending within England’s Northwest.

We have recognised the importance of this potential through investing in infrastructure to attract business tourism in relation to the market demand, such as the Arena and Convention Centre at Liverpool, and the planned redevelopment by partners of Manchester Central.

A Business Tourism Framework has been produced which is guiding Tourist Board and Northwest Regional Development Agency activity in developing this key area of business. This activity includes improved marketing of the regional conference product, a quality assurance scheme, enhanced partnership working, research and improved website presence.
