Visitor Attractions

The Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Service (VAQAS ) is the national scheme that recognises the high standards of service and facilities that exists within Visitor Attractions. The Northwest Tourist Boards work with attractions who have achieved assessment under the nationally recognised VAQAS scheme, however, unlike the accommodation schemes there are no ratings or grades..

Each attraction is assessed on the quality of the visit from enquiry, through booking and arrival, to departure.  The assessor is particularly interested in customer service and cleanliness.   The visitor attraction is judged on its own merits and 'quality' is measured by comparing best practice between similar types of attraction.   A formal report is received and following a satisfactory assessment, the attraction is accredited and can use the Quality Rose in its Marketing.
