It is crucial for the tourism sector to be intelligence-led if we are to achieve higher levels of quality and business excellence. The aim is to accurately assess progress made to date and make investment decisions based on facts and not assumptions. Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) and the Tourist Boards are seeking to improve knowledge about the tourism sector and are driving improvements at a national level, through involvement in the English Tourism Intelligence Partnership (ETIP). NWDA have produced a Tourism Research Strategy which ensures that we have a strong evidence base for all of the actions outlined in the Strategy for Tourism for England’s Northwest which highlights The Tourism Research Strategy.
